I read this story about Amazon’s sickness policy in horror – how can a company that it so huge be so cruel to it’s employees.
Don’t buy from amazon – goto Play.com instead, or better still, support your local stores!

Some weeks ago I ordered Bailey a Liverpool Football Kit (all you Everton fans hold back the abuse) from SportsDirect.co.uk (I won’t link to them), received an email saying the order had been receieved and that it would be dispatched promptly. Weeks later the parcel had still not arrived. So I sent SportsDirect.co.uk an email asking for an update on the order, which went un-answered. I waited a few days (sometimes companies find it hard to keep on top of their complaints, especially when they probably get so many) with no response. Today I called to ask what was happening only to discover that (apparently) the amount had been refused on my card, which I found unlikely but plausable. What I didn’t find plausable was that SportsDirect.co.uk didn’t contact me. No phone call, no email, just cancelled the order. When I asked If they still had them in stock I was told they had sold out.
Luckily there are plenty of worthwhile online stores where you can get the Junior Kit from without such hassle or incompetance… a couple are listed below:

I went home early on Tuesday and spent some wonderful time with the kids. That’s not sarcasm, it was real, funny and genuine. An enjoyable time. Usually I get home just in time to stop Jenny losing her mind and climbing the walls. The kids are usually tired and very emotional. When kids get tired, they lose their sense of reason (much like overseas call centres), you can talk and talk, beg and plead, but they’ll always go right back to the start and yes, start again. This is my number one bug-bear, having to repeat myself like a scratched record – over and over and over. It’s demoralising and bloody hard work.
As I’m sat there eating dinner I start to see the first signs of this madness from Bella and within minutes she’s in full blown self destruct mode and like a bout of athletes foot in the swimming club it starts ti infect the other kids and before you know it, Jen and I are sat at the table, surrounded by a cacophany that would should be used in hostage or siege situations to demoralise the hostage takers, instead of the Spice Girls greatest hits.
That’s when I realised that for months I’ve been coming in at the end of the movie. It was a strange sense of deja vu – I’d seen this scene over and over for weeks, and I had finally got to see the build up to it.
I miss my family.
