So I broke my ‘duck’ for 2010 with these small canvases for the Grafik Warefare show at Graffik London this weekend (26-28 February).

Hope you like them. If you’re near Portobello Road this weekend go have a look. www.graffiklondon.co.uk

mash-up

Thursday was Doodleplanet night at Telfords Warehouse in Chester. This time I joined forces with David Setter for a bit of tag-team doodling. The rules were simple… 30 minutes each and then hand over to your team member. It was good fun and meant that a) we both finished and b) we also had some time to socialise a little. Normally I find I spend the whole night transfixed in the artwork and hardly talk to anyone. Below is a shot of David at work. You can see more here.

Blurred lines

So today I thought I had a hospital appointment. But as it turns out it was yesterday and, like a dumb ass I missed it! So now I have to suck it up and call the said hospital to eat humble pie and be spoken to like a four year old. I guess that’s only fair.
On a better note I purchased something last night by an artist that I’ve had my eye on for a while. I’m not spilling the beans just yet, you’ll have to wait till it arrives – trust me it’s worth it.
Also today my two peices for the grafik warefare show at Graffik in London will be on their way.
I’m still miffed at my bad memory for letting me down!

The modern age

I’m actually posting this from my iPhone – and it’s amazing.
I’ve been a busy bee since the New Year kicked in, unfortunately most of it on web projects which is as well considering the temperature has stayed aroung zero and I have no heating in the studio. I’m planning to get some mains electricity out there this year, either that or find some ‘real’ studio space as this year is going to be busy for me.
I have two upcoming shows for February which I’ll be giving more information on soon. Stay tuned and stay happy!

Freelance Front End HTML Developer

No, not me… I’m talking about my mate James Peel. He is a gun for hire when it comes to HTML, particulary good freelance front end HTML development and right now he’s available for hire.

Check out his blog/site for all things Design/ HTML.

So Where Is All This Going

The weather has frustrated the hell out of me, since the cold frost descended over the UK in December I’ve been able to do very little work in the studio. Paint takes too long to dry (well to be precise it tends not to dry at all) and after an hour or so I start to lose the feeling in my fingers. So for the last six weeks I’ve spent the time on my ass drinking beer, getting fat and procrastinating on Twitter and dare I say it, Facebook. There has been some movement but it’s been very slow (more to come on that a little later this month). It’s not all bad though, I have been reading quite a lot too… am I boring you yet?

It’s also been a little disappointing as two of the three planned projects for the beginning of the year have since fallen through. That kinda knocked the wind out of my sails for a bit – I’m very good at feeling sorry for myself. On a plus, I’ve been invited to take part at another exhibition in London at the end of February (again top secret until the show opening) but I’m excited again and it means that the next seven to ten days will prove (hopefully) very fruitful, especially as I still have a private commission to complete before the middle of February.

After all that excitement I came across these two paintings hidden behind all kinds of crap at the back of the studio – I can’t wait to get them finished off.

Have a great February!
