New Prints

It feels like it has taken me ages (too long, infact) to get these available to the public but I’m pleased to announce the release of a limited edition giclee print run of Suitors. The prints are limited to 15 and printed on textured art paper – follow the link below for pricing and dimensions.

Thunder Chunky – Time Capsule

I’m very happy to say that my artwork has been added to the Thunder Chunky Time Capsule, an online project to mark the end of the ‘noughties’ decade.

Check out the project and my work and have a look at some of the amazing artwork from other participants.

Check out the Thunder Chunky website (it’s a good read).

Progression exploits

So I braved the cold (I can’t believe it’s going to get colder, but it will) and ventured out into the studio last night to start on the final peice for an upcoming show in the US of A.

Here are some progress shots…

Stefan Joch

I just came across Stefan’s artwork through a project we both featured in and I wanted to share.

There’s a lot of good doodle styled illustration about right now so it’s really nice to come across some artwork that stands out a little more.

Weekend Report

This weekend was amazing in so many ways. Bella had two parties over the weekend so I got to spend some one to one time with Bailey and Riley, man-to-man-to-man I guess. Anyway we had a good time and managed to get a few things, including more carrot seeds for the garden. On the carrot note, we pulled some of the first crop over the weekend and was extremely happy with the results, nothing tastes like a carrot that you’re grown yourself, fresh from the ground. The smell is intense and they’re so sweet. (Can you tell I like carrots?).

I also spent some time in the studio and broke the back of this beauty below. It’s a painting I have been working on based on the one I painted at Upfest 09. It’s for the Buy Art Fair at the Urbis, Manchester in September. I hope to finish it this evening and get a shot sent off to the organisers. I wanted to get the same style figure but adding a dimension that I couldn’t while down in Bristol due to time constrains, without completely re-painting it… (where would the fun be in that?) and hopefully you’ll agree that I have succeeded. It’s a 100×80cm canvas painted with Aerosol, Acrylic and Ink.

Cecilie Ellefsen

The artwork of Cecilie Ellefsen is utterly fantastic.  I love her diorama’s – especially the fox pictured below

Check out Cecile’s blog … discovered at Grain Edit

Dan Thompson

I just love the artwork of Dan Thompson! It’s humorous and has a nostalgic feel that I can’t quite put my finger on. I intend to go back later and have a good old look through his blog.

ILLUSTRATIVE 2009 – Illustrative art festival returns to Berlin

Illustrative returns to Berlin from the 16th of October to the 1st of November -Villa Elisabeth… I wish I was part of it.

“ILLUSTRATIVE showcases an international scene of artist-designers, whose works have been inspired by subculture movements like comic and graffiti as well as by applied arts like illustration and book art. The exhibition explores the merging of infinite materials and techniques in widely unprecedented combinations, which challenge learned ways of seeing – e.g. the latest development, where illustration and graphics are translated into the third dimension, or new narrative strategies in 3D-animation.”
